Novo Nordisk has pioneered diabetes research and therapeutic development for more than 85 years. Throughout the years we have refined our protein expertise and are adamant about sustaining it at world-class level. In passionately leveraging this we aim to:
- sustain our position as the world’s leading diabetes care company.
- expand our leadership positions in the biopharmaceutical areas of haemophilia and growth hormone deficiency.
- apply our technology platform to build a presence within inflammation.
Hence we are developing next-generation versions of our existing products and exploring the feasibility of current products in new indications while inventing new classes, new paradigms as well as new delivery routes.
We know that we cannot create all the answers in-house, so we nurture extensive networks, actively seek new partners and welcome young researchers in our various fellowship programmes.
Novo Nordisk intends to invest what it takes to realise our strategic aspirations. We allocate an increasing share of our revenues to R&D while ensuring high ethical standards throughout our value chain. For our efforts in bioethics and animal testing, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes granted Novo Nordisk the maximum score of 100 points for the fourth consecutive year in 2008.
